Jarvis is my hero; no one else is in the running. I thought, once Pulp finished and he went quiet for a while, that maybe my infatuation had finally run its course...and then he came out with this (music video alert), and I fell in love all over again.

*fangirlish sigh*

Aw, Jarvis!

Have you listened to his radio programme on 6Music? I’ve listened to it a few times, and it’s pretty good.. need to get into the habit of listening to it more often. I’m getting a bit forgetful these days. Anyway, he has a lovely voice (both speaking and singing).

I’d like to nominate Justine Frischmann.

OK, her band’s output wasn’t especially profound, but you just don’t get bands like Elastica these days.. I’m not really fond of the folky singer-songwriter female musicians who seem to be everywhere these days. I like her style and attitude. I like how direct and simple her band’s music is, and the goofy lyrics. Britpop bands have an excellent sense of humour. It’s one of the reasons why I love them so much.

Here, have some pictures of her with Jarvis.

Apparently she has run off to America and decided to pursue art. You don’t hear an awful lot about her nowadays; I think it’s cool that she is keeping things low-key. Here’s a recent picture of her:
